The California Chiropractic Association (CalChiro) Board of Directors needs you!

Here is your chance to help lead this association dedicated to furthering and protecting the chiropractic profession. The CalChiro Board of Directors are currently seeking doctor of chiropractic members to serve in leadership positions for the 2024 year:

  • President-elect
  • Treasurer 
  • Director – Focusing on Membership/District Development

Open Positions

QUALIFICATIONS
– Must be an Active Member in good standing for the past five (5) consecutive years.
– Must have served a full term as a member of CalChiro Board of Directors.
– Experience as a past board member of some active organization preferred.
– Experience as a CalChiro Delegate.

RESPONSIBILITIES
– The President-Elect collaborates with the President to learn the role of the President, to become familiar with the programs of the Association and its governance, and to develop and facilitate officer transition. 
– Assists and supports the President as needed and plans for the Presidential year. 
– The President-Elect shall automatically become President at the end of the term as President-Elect. 
– May perform the duties of the office of the President if the President is temporarily unable to do so.
– Appoints all committee and task force chairs whose terms will take effect during his/her presidency.
– Serves as liaison to one or more CalChiro districts.
– Serves as liaison to one or more CalChiro committees and task forces.
– Attends the Annual Conference, Legislative Day and other CalChiro activities.
– Assists in promoting the CalChiro-PAC and educating members. 
– Attends Orientation for CalChiro Committees and Task Forces, 1 day per year.
– Attends District President Meetings

TIME COMMITMENT ESTIMATE
– The CalChiro President-Elect can expect to spend a minimum of 18-22 days attending CalChiro related meetings and performing CalChiro activities.
– The CalChiro President-Elect can expect to spend approximately 3 hours per week reading CalChiro material, preparing for CalChiro activities and communicating with CalChiro members. 

QUALIFICATIONS
– Must be an Active Member in good standing.
– Previous experience on the CalChiro Board of Directors is desirable.
– Previous experience as a CalChiro committee or task force chair is desirable.
– Previous experience as a CalChiro committee or task force member is desirable.
– Previous experience as a district officer is desirable.
– Fulfills the board competency for finance; finance background/familiarity preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES
– The Treasurer shall be a member of the Board of Directors; shall represent the Board in all matters pertaining to the investment, receipt and disbursement of Association funds; shall chair the Committee on Finance; shall assure development of the Association’s budget for presentation to the Committee on Finance; shall monitor and evaluate compliance with the Association’s budget; and shall assure preparation of an annual audit of the Association’s fiscal affairs.
– The Treasurer shall review and report upon the long-term financial projections and plans of CalChiro.
– The Treasurer is not charged with executive or administrative responsibility for the
management or conduct of the internal affairs of CalChiro.
– May serve as liaison to CalChiro Districts, Committees or Task Forces.
– Attends the Annual Conference, Legislative Day and other CalChiro activities.
– Orients successor in conjunction with EVP/CEO and President.
– Assists in promoting the CalChiro PAC and educating members.
– Attends Orientation for CalChiro Committees and Task Forces, 1 day per year.

TIME COMMITMENT ESTIMATE
– The CalChiro Treasurer can expect to spend a minimum of 18 – 22 days attending CalChiro related meetings and performing CalChiro activities.
– An additional 3 – 4 days could be spent in “optional activities” if scheduling permits.
– The CalChiro Treasurer can expect to spend approximately 3 hours per week reading CalChiro material, preparing for CalChiro activities and communicating with CalChiro members.

TERM OF OFFICE
– Two (2) years; may be elected to a maximum of 3 consecutive terms

QUALIFICATIONS
– Must be an Active Member in good standing.
– Experience as a member of a District Board of Directors or served on a statewide CalChiro committee or task force in at least one of the past three fiscal years.
– Experience as a CalChiro Delegate (when applicable).
– Marketing/sales/development experience preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES
– Will help focus the board on the needs of districts and membership growth.
– Serves as liaison to one or more CalChiro districts.
– Serves as liaison to one or more CalChiro committees and task forces.
– Attends the Annual Conference, Legislative Day and other CalChiro activities.
– Assists in promoting the CalChiro-PAC and educating members.
– Attends Orientation for CalChiro Committees and Task Forces, 1 day per year.
– Attends District President Meetings when held in the same general area of the State.

TIME COMMITMENT ESTIMATE
– The Director Focusing on Membership/District Development can expect to spend a minimum of 10-15 days attending CalChiro related meetings and performing CalChiro activities.
– The Director Focusing on Membership/District Development can expect to spend approximately 2 hours per week reading CalChiro material, preparing for CalChiro activities and communicating with CalChiro members.
